The management of ENERGO-PRO discussed with the Mayor of Varna Municipality new energy projects for the region

Representatives of ENERGO-PRO held a meeting with the management of the Municipality of Varna, at which the progress on key investment projects, as well as current problems and possible solutions related to the development of the electricity infrastructure on the territory of the municipality were discussed. The meeting was attended by Radoslav Ivanov, Executive Director and Member of the Management Board of ENERGO-PRO Varna and Atanas Kolev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elektrodistribuenie North.
The management of ENERGO-PRO presented to the team of Varna Municipality information about the significant progress on major investment projects in the region. In particular, at the Maksuda substation, the successful installation of a new power transformer was confirmed, which provides additional capacity for the area. For Trakata substation, reconstruction has been completed, including the installation of a new transformer, which provides additional covers for the area. An extension of the substation with the addition of a third transformer and a new 20kV distribution system is forthcoming.
Under the project for 110 kV “Dobreva Cheshma” node station, which is being designed and built by ERP North AD, it is expected that the construction part will be completed soon and the site will be handed over to ESO EAD for final connection to the electricity network. As for the node stations “Eskimos” and “Druzhba”, the feasibility studies for the two sites have already been completed, and at the moment the final issues related to property rights are being settled, after which the projects will be able to start.
The Management Board of ENERGO-PRO also raised for discussion a number of current issues such as the recovery of deposits, the construction of new substations on municipal private property land, the delay of some sites due to problems with warranty pavements, the provision of a register of dangerous trees that could endanger the energy infrastructure and control over the disposal of household waste and building materials in the servitude of substations. Varna Municipality undertakes to ensure easier communication, as well as to coordinate the preliminary repair work of the street network with the responsible employees of the company.
The representatives of ENERGO-PRO emphasized that the lack of PUP-PRZ (Detailed Development Plan - Plan for Regulation and Development) in the adjacent villa areas of Varna continues to be a serious problem for years. This impedes the construction of new facilities and access to property, making it difficult to build new energy networks and expand existing ones.
ENERGO-PRO focused on uncontrolled excavation activities carried out by private construction investors, which often lead to damage to underground and above-ground electrical installations.
The meeting between ENERGO-PRO and Varna Municipality resulted in concrete agreements on key issues related to energy infrastructure and grid safety in the region. The two institutions are expected to continue their cooperation and work together to accelerate projects and solve current problems.
