ENERGO-PRO supported kindergarten in Gabrovo in the construction of a new model for early childhood reading

The “Playing Library” project of DG “Daga” - Gabrovo, realized with the support of “ENERGO-PRO for society”, successfully transformed the environment for early childhood reading in kindergarten. The company provided BGN 5000 for the campaign, thanks to which the material base was renovated and significantly enriched.

Before its launch, there was a lack of suitable spaces and materials to stimulate children to interact with books in a natural and inspiring way. The absence of accessible library corners limited the possibilities of creating a true reading culture.

With the enrichment of the material base and the provision of STEM mobile children's libraries, children received a new opportunity to touch books through play, imagination and role-playing situations. Getting into the role of readers or librarians, they develop an attitude towards literature, gain an idea of an almost forgotten profession and build a positive attitude towards reading at an early age.

An important part of the project was the active participation of parents who participated in readings in front of children and contributed to strengthening the relationship between the family and the educational institution. Their support enhanced the impact of the initiative and helped to achieve its main goal of making the book a natural companion in children's development.

“Playing Library” fits into the priorities of the National Strategy for the Promotion of Literacy, proving the importance of early investment in children's reading. The project shows that when the right conditions are created, interest in knowledge and literacy develops sustainably and with lasting effect.
