At the end of June 2012, the Czech company ENERGO-PRO acquired E.ON's business in Bulgaria and took over the supply of electricity to approximately 1.1 million customers. ENERGO-PRO was established in the Czech Republic in 1994. It is an independent energy producer with 18 years of experience in generating, supplying and trading electricity from renewable energy sources. The company has nearly 8,000 employees and operates businesses in the Czech Republic, Turkey, Georgia and Bulgaria, where it owns 39 hydroelectric power plants (hydroelectric power plants). ENERGO-PRO has been on the Bulgarian market since 2000. With its eight hydroelectric plants, united in three cascades, the company is the largest private producer of electricity from hydroelectric power plants in the country. The supply of electricity to the end user is a specific activity with which ENERGO-PRO has considerable experience in Georgia - since 2007 the company manages a power distribution network serving nearly 870,000 customers in a total area of 46,000 square kilometers.

On the electricity distribution of North-East Bulgaria, Mr. Jiri Krushina, member of the Management Board of ENERGO-PRO, said: “We plan to improve the reliability of the grid through profitable investments in maintenance and modernization, which will lead to higher customer satisfaction. In this endeavor, we will adhere to our core values of expertise, efficiency, safety and responsibility. As a long-term investor in Bulgaria, we expand our business responsibly by acquiring, modernizing and developing our energy assets in the country. Our goal is to achieve balanced growth over the long term while delivering on our commitments to society and the environment.”
